The main idea of the competition was the restoration of the function of the city spa in the centre of Bratislava. The facility brings together several historic buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries into a single, legible whole.
The renewed complex offers indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, massage rooms and a relaxation centre — the working heart of a spa returned to public life.
Around this core, the proposal weaves in a city library, a restaurant, a café and a public park, so the block stays alive well beyond bathing hours and gives the surrounding streets something to gather around.
