Former STU Premises, Gabčíkovo

The conversion adapts the existing buildings to the current needs of the location and adds desirable new functions in newly built volumes — all while keeping respect for the existing physical and spatial character of the site.

Buildings 1–4 are reconstructed as accommodation, preserving their original design; buildings 5–8 are converted into housing and apartments. Building 9, the former administration, becomes apartments above an office and training centre, and building 10 turns into a cultural and social hub with gallery and shop space.

New parking structures (13–14) carry perforated light panels and stainless-steel mesh for climbing greenery, while a single-storey connector (11) is topped by a green roof park. Perimeter parking lines the main campus road, and planting is woven through the whole redesigned environment.
